Our Director
John Filion is a former Chairman of the North York Board of Education (now part of the Toronto District School Board), which is known as a leader in ESL education. Under his leadership, the Board introduced many new programs designed to assist students from other countries. Mr. Filion is in charge of the administration of the Lexis program, where his many years of experience in education help ensure our school’s high standards.
Our Teachers
At Lexis, we understand that the quality of our school depends on the excellence of our teachers. We hire only Ministry of Education certified teachers who work with Boards of Education during the regular school year and return to Lexis each summer for our high-quality program and positive atmosphere.
All our highly skilled teachers adjust their programs to meet each student’s individual needs, and encourage them to overcome shyness about speaking English so that they actively participate in class. In addition to our classroom teachers, we hire a staff of bright, energetic university students as classroom assistants and tour guides.
